Why Blended CPR BCLS Training instead of a Fully In-Person Course?
A Blended Basic Life Support CPR Course is perfect for those who want the convenience of online learning, with the added benefit of an in-class session to get hands-on experience and ask any questions. In Ontario, Canada, you can’t do all of your CPR certification online, but you can save time & money with a blended course - half online, and half in-class.
-
You can complete the online portion at your own pace, taking as much or as little time as you need on topics that are more or less relevant to you. Explore in greater detail than would be possible in a traditional classroom setting. Because you can complete the online portion of the course at your own pace, you'll never feel rushed through topics.
-
The in-class session is shorter than a traditional CPR class, because much of the content has already been covered online. This means that you'll be able to get hands-on experience and ask any questions you have in a shorter amount of time. Also, because the in-class session is only 2 hours, you'll need less time off work or school to take the course. This also means that you'll have more time for family, friends, and other activities.
-
Since you’ve already covered most of the theory in the Online Course, your In-Class session is very hands-on and skills-focused! The in-class session is focused on giving you hands-on experience with CPR techniques, and is also a great opportunity to meet other people taking the course and to have some fun while learning CPR!
-
If you’re in healthcare or you’re an emergency responder, you probably already know most of the material. You likely only need a refresher, and will learn a few new recommendations & guidelines. You can rocket through the online course super fast, then have a more fun, practical CPR BLS Training session instead of another theoretical lecture.
What’s the Difference Between CPR BLS, CPR BCLS, and HCP Level CPR?
Short answer - there IS NO difference!
Long answer: they’re all different names for the same level of CPR Certification.
CPR HCP: Healthcare Provider CPR
A number of years ago, the most common name for this type of CPR Training was HCP Level CPR, for “Healthcare Provider Level.” That name is no longer officially in use. Reason being, not everyone who needed CPR HCP was a healthcare provider! So, HCP Level was changed to (here’s where it gets confusing) BLS and BCLS.
CPR BLS & CPR BCLS
They both refer to the same standard of training, although they have different names! BLS means “Basic Life Support” and BCLS means “Basic Cardiac Life Support.” ACLS, however, or “Advanced Cardiac Life Support,” is something else entirely - it’s a higher level of CPR Certification that’s outside the scope of this Blended CPR BLS Program. So, if you were asked by your school or employer to go out and obtain HCP Level, or BCLS Level CPR, then our CPR BLS Course will meet those requirements.
