Our mask fit testing service ensures your team complies with the latest occupational health and safety regulations while promoting a safer, more effective workplace environment. This vital service supports the protection of employees who are required to wear respirators in environments where they may be exposed to harmful airborne contaminants.

We use the Qualitative Fit Testing (QFLT) method to assess mask fit, which is the most widely accepted and recognized approach for determining the appropriate respirator for each individual. Our testing process is in full compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Reg. 833) and follows the Canadian CSA-Z94.4 guidelines for respirator use and care.

Who Can Benefit from Our Mask Fit Testing?

Business Clients: We provide onsite testing at your office or plant, ensuring that your team is properly fitted for respirators.

Individuals: If you require a mask fit test certification, register online and join one of our public sessions at a nearby location.

Our testing includes N95 mask fitting and other respirator tests. This program conforms to Canadian CSA-Z94 standards for the use and care of respirators. Please note, clients must provide half-face and full-face masks along with the necessary filters.

Certification Details & Participant Information

For Employers & Schools:
Every two years, employers and educational institutions must provide respirator mask fit test certification for employees or students exposed to contaminated airborne particulates. This certification includes fitting the appropriate mask (N95, half-face, or full-face).

Certification Covers:

Mask inspection, limitations, and proper donning
Seal check, doffing, and proper disposal
2-year certification for respirator fit

Important:

Clean-shaven is mandatory for participants. Failure to meet this requirement will result in a failed test.

Booking Process:

Book as an Add-On:
If you're taking CPR or First Aid training, you can easily add Mask Fit Testing to your course during your break. The test will take approximately 30 minutes.
Confirmation:
Upon booking, you'll receive a receipt, and each participant will receive a booking confirmation with venue details.
Required Documentation:
After booking, we’ll email the necessary documentation that must be filled out and brought to the session.

Preparation Before Your Mask Fit Test:

Clean-Shaven: Men must be clean-shaven for accurate mask fitting. Failure to comply with NIOSH facial surface guidelines will result in being turned away.
Avoid Certain Activities: Do not eat, drink (except water), smoke, or chew gum for at least 15 minutes before your mask fit test. This ensures better results.
Complete Paperwork: Please bring a hardcopy of the "Qualitative Mask Fit Test Participant Form" provided in your confirmation email.
Be On Time: Arriving late may result in being turned away, as all participants begin the certification process together.
